Okay, so here it is so far.
Please pretend there are collisions on the walls. The walls are the darker grey blocks- the floor is one colour in most rooms. (Light grey or light brown)
Or, you know, just go through the walls. But then how will I know if the pacing's correct? I don't mind if you do to just explore the place, though.
Feedback would be appreciated, but just do whatever you want with it now, except steal it.

Evidently there's no sprite for the main character yet. The location is supposed to be a space station, possibly full of plants that may or may not kill you depending on if I have time.
Space bar to charge. Green bar is your charge, yellow bar is the charge for the charge. How obvious is this...?
enjoyed going round this environment, is it going to be puzzle and collecting?

Glad you enjoyed it. I was thinking there'd definitley be collecting in there somewhere, but I don't know if I'll add action elements, like enmies, unless I have time once everything's built.
ReplyDeleteI decided I'd finish the environment and collisions first before adding anything in, since that could take longer than I think, and it's more key to an interesting game than enemies, in other words, it'd still be fun without enemies, but not without collisions. I'll try and get those in next.
The environments were built with several different play types in mind- and to be fun to cruise around at speed, for instance, some corners would be a good place to charge into enemies, some blocks (ones with vines growing on them) can be destroyed once a powerup is obtained, the dune buggy is supposed to be behind that cage in the first cave, for example. If any of these features need to be cut, they can also be cut very easily without much loss to the overall gameplay.
